Bilingual Education
The Texas Republican Party "believes the majority of bilingual education programs in Texas have not proven to be successful and should be replaced with the immersion method or a combination of the existing English as a Second Language (ESL) and immersion methods."
The Texas Democratic Party rejects "Republican efforts to destroy bilingual education and support bilingual education and dual language programs that help move students to English-language instruction and also allow English-speaking children to learn a second language."
John WorldPeace believes that all Texans must be able to speak fluent English and that all children must also be required to communicate at a minimum level in a secondary language. John believes that children whose parents speak a language other than English at home should be required to participate in a modified curriculum that will rapidly eliminate their inability to fluently communicate in English and therefore provide them the opportunity to fully participate in the Texas economy and political process.
