Children and Same Sex Marriages

The laws of this state in regards to the custody of children is founded upon what is in "the best interest of the child".  I support this standard.  As an attorney who practices family law, I know from first hand experience that every situation involving the custody of children is unique.  I do not support or decline to support the custody of children being awarded to a parent who is involved in a same sex relationship.  I do not support the position that a parent involved in a same sex relationship is automatically denied custody.  I support the law which presently places "the best interest of the child" in the hands of the trial judge hearing the case; subject to the right of any party to appeal the court's decision.
